An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Mr. Broadway, the 1933 Johnnie Walker New York City nightclub all-star musical comedy ("A tour of New York's famous hot spots with Ed Sullivan"; "N.T.G.'s famous paradise night club with Abe Lyman and Band"; "Famous Hollywood Night Club with Isham Jones and Band"; "Famous Central Park Casino with Ed Duchin and Band"; this was a sort of semi-documentary with Ed Sullivan, who at that time was a newspaper columnist, taking the viewer on a tour of major New York "night spots"; the highlight of the movie is the cameos of stars who appear as themselves, especially boxer Jack Dempsey, and Ruth Etting, the inspiration for the movie "Love Me or Leave Me") starring the following stars as themselves: Ed Sullivan, Frisco, N.T.G. (Nils Thor Granlund, who was a Swedish vaudeville performer, who made five movies in the 1930s and 1940s, appearing as himself, as a vaudeville performer), Jack Dempsey, Bert Lahr, Ruth Etting, Primo Carnera, Jack Benny, Hal LeRoy, Lita Grey Chaplin, Ted Husing, Lupe Velez, Jack Haley, Josephine Dunn, Johnnie Walker, Dita Parlo, and Max 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good. There are some creases and tears of varying lengths around the edges of the poster (generally 1" or less but some are larger - see our image). One of the tears is very fragile at upper center and it is being held on by a tiny piece of paper only. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
