Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) The Block Signal, the 1926 Frank O'Connor silent railroad romantic melodrama ("A thrilling romance of the roaring rails"; "A thrilling railroad romance"; about an aging railroad man who is becoming color blind, and he is having trouble with the railroad signals that are red and green, and a younger man refuses to cover for him, even though he is in love with the older man's pretty daughter) starring Ralph Lewis, Jean Arthur, Sidney Franklin, Hugh Allan, and George Chesebro. Note that between 1910 and 1915 railroads adopted a new system of red and green signals which were much superior to the old system, but they discovered that some railroad men were colorblind, and their careers were ruined! Also note that Jean Arthur had been in a lot of movies since 1923, but this was one of her earlier better roles (and she was second billed). But it was not until the coming of sound that she became a true star! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. pinholes in the corners; some small tears, stains, and creases around the edges of the poster; separation at the crossfolds and some tiny tears in the vertical foldline; overall, the poster is in quite nice condition considering its age and will look great if linenbacked!
