An Original 1937 Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Ourselves Alone (released in the U.S. in 1937 as "River of Unrest") the 1936 Brian Desmond Hurst & Walter Summers English romantic crime melodrama ("Adapted from the play 'The Trouble' by Dudley Sturrock and Noel Scott"; similar to "The Informer", it concerns the "Irish troubles" and how it affected everyday people there) starring John Lodge, John Loder, Antoinette Cellier, Niall MacGannis, and E.J. Kennedy. Note that male lead John Lodge has an interesting background! He came from an important New England family (his grandfather was William Henry Cabot Lodge), and he shocked them by becoming a movie actor! He appeared in a couple dozen movies between 1932 and 1940. He quit the movies to serve in World War II, and afterwards, in 1946, he became the second major movie actor ever to hold national political office, serving as a Congressman (the first was Helen Gahagan Douglas). In 1950, he became Governor of Connecticut, and later, he served as ambassador to several countries!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this movie was made by one of the two main English production companies at the time, BIP, but when it was distributed in the U.S., it was distributed by the other main English companies, Gaumont British, and they did not put BIP on the poster!

Condition: good. The poster has separation, tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of several folds, and someone put pieces of tape on the back of many of those. There are also pinholes and some tears around the edges.
