An Original Vintage Tri-folded Circus Nine-Sheet Poster (measures 79 3/4" x 118") (Learn More)

Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey, the circa 1940s circus poster ("The Greatest Show on Earth") featuring a great artwork image of a clown created by Bill Bailey! Note that while this poster is clearly vintage, we do not know for sure when it is from. The 1940s date we give to it is purely a guess, based on the image and the quality of the printing and the age of the paper. If anyone knows more about this poster, please contact us and we will post it here. The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.
Artist: Bill Bailey
Important Added Info: Note that this circus poster was printed in 4 pieces. This nine-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with nine-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded nine-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 33", so they cost more to send than regularly folded nine-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster appears to have never been used. There is some separation and tiny paper loss at the crossfolds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded, but otherwise, the poster is in nice condition (each of the two pairs of pieces of the poster were glued together, but it appears that this was certainly done prior to the folding and at the printer, and it does not negatively affect the poster at all).
