An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Presskit (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; contains 23 supplements, and 17 stills) (Learn More) Slap Shot, the classic 1977 George Roy Hill ice hockey action sports romantic comedy ("Certain language may be too strong for children"; "You'll see Paul Newman doing things you'd never expect him to do... saying things you'd never expect him to say!"; "Slap Shot out slaps... out swears... out laughs..."; this film was quite daring in its day for its coarse use of language and its misogynistic attitude towards women; surprisingly, it was written by a woman, Nancy Dowd, but I think her point was to show the world just how misogynistic many men are!) starring Paul Newman, Michael Ontkean, Lindsay Crouse, Jennifer Warren (NOT the singer who was also known as Jennifer Warnes), Jerry Houser, Strother Martin, and Jeff Carlson, Steve Carlson, and David Hanson (as The Hanson Brothers, who surely accounted for a large part of the movie's great success!) Important Added Info: Note that this is one of an excellent collection of 25 presskits we were consigned from the collection of Ken Williams, who was a movie reviewer for the Hamilton Journal News in Ohio! Mr. Williams was often invited to movie premieres and he would reciprocate by getting the studios excellent coverage of their movies in his newspaper! Many of the presskits that he was sent had many more supplements than are commonly seen, and it is quite likely that he was sent some supplemental material that was ONLY sent to special reviewers, and not to movie theaters. This paragraph is on each of the 25 presskits from this collection we are currently auctioning, and each clearly describes what items are included in it, so you can quickly see if there are additional items in this presskit that were not available elsewhere. Many of these 25 presskits are from top movies, and this is a rare opportunity to obtain a "movie reviewer's presskit" for those movies! Note that we have never before auctioned this presskit! Also note that we have taken a picture of the cover of the presskit and eight of the stills (less than eight if the presskit has less than eight stills, of course). We have noted if the presskit contains any supplements, but we do not picture them. All of the presskits are sealed and ready to be sent, and we cannot answer any questions about the contents, especially about what any stills we may have not pictured show. REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THIS AUCTION TO SEE HOW MANY STILLS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS PRESSKIT, BECAUSE WE NEVER PICTURE MORE THAN EIGHT OF THEM (and we pretty much picked eight stills at random). Condition: very good. Many of the presskits we are auctioning this week were carefully stored away for many years, and the stills are in really excellent condition.
