An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More)

The Vanishing Shadow, the 1934 Lew Landers (billed as "Louis Friedlander") science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy crime mystery serial ("12 Smashing Chapters of ACTION! MYSTERY! and THRILLS!"; based on the story by Ella O'Neill; about an electrical engineer whose father was killed by a vicious gang, and he invents devices in order to try to smash the gang; some of his inventions include a "vanishing belt", which allows the wearer to become invisible, a robot, a ray gun, and many more!) starring Onslow Stevens, Ada Ince, William Desmond, Walter Miller, James Durkin, Richard Cramer, William Desmond, and Lee J. Cobb (uncredited in his first movie role!). Note that there were very few science fiction movies in the 1930s, and this is one that is rarely mentioned by poster collectors, likely because movie paper of any kind from it is unbelievably rare! It would be one of the hardest "holes" to fill in any sci-fi movie collection.

Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: very good.
