An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 23 3/4" x 33 1/2" [60 x 85 cm]) (Learn More)

Maria Nover (literally translates to "My Sister Mary"), the 1929 Antal Forgacs Hungarian silent romantic love triangle religious nun melodrama starring Werner Pittschau, Iris Arlan (in the title role as Maria Nover), Rosey Barsony, Kalman Zatony, and Giza Bathory. Note that we were unable to find details about this movie, but we found that there was a 1937 sound movie of the same name that appears to be from the same source. That movie is about a nun who falls in love with a singer just before she takes her vows, and she leaves the religious order, but they have a misunderstanding, and she marries his best friend, and he becomes a famous opera singer, and years later, he returns, thinking he will be reunited with her, but she is now a wife and mother, so he wisely leaves her be and returns to his career. If anyone knows if this is also the plot of this 1929 movie (or has additional information), please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "pre-War" Belgian poster. Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: fair to good. There is paper loss in the top left and top right, which slightly extends into the background. There are creases, tears, and stains around the edges, with a few tears on the folds.
