What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster a 2" diagonal tear in the middle right that ran through the top of Monroe's hair and a small part of her arm. There was separation at the right end of the middle fold above that tear, and someone put two pieces of tape on the back of that area, and it slightly bled through to the front. It had tiny paper loss at the bottom center of the top blank area. The poster had pinholes in the corners and minor fold wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
