'The Prince and the Showgirl'"; "Some countries have a medal for Everything"; "A Film by Marilyn Monroe Pictures Inc."; "Screen Play by Terence Rattigan"; about a showgirl in a mythical European country, who causes scandal when a prince tries to seduce her) starring Marilyn Monroe (in the title role as Elsie), Laurence Olivier (in the title role as the Prince Regent), Sybil Thorndike, Richard Wattis, David Horne, Jeremy Spenser, Jean Kent, Vera Day, and Margot Lister NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great group of stills includes the excellent still of Monroe in the red dress, and there are many people (myself included!) who consider this the best single image of Marilyn Monroe (I guess a close competitor would be the skirt-blowing image of Marilyn from "The Seven Year Itch"!). Condition: good to very good. Still #7 (the one with the image of the red dress - see above) has two tiny pinholes to the right of Monroe's face, and some light creases at upper left and lower center, with a diagonal crease at lower left. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Someone scratched an "A" in Monroe's leg on still #8, and that still has some slight surface discoloration due to exposure to moisture, as well as a few pinholes around the edges. Still #9 has a 2" scratch at lower left (affecting a portion of Olivier's coat and it extends slightly into Monroe's arm), as well as a diagonal crease at lower left. It is otherwise in generally nice condition. Still #2 has a few pinholes around the edges and still #5 has a diagonal crease at lower left. With the exception of the above-mentioned defects, the group is otherwise in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
