An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 11 1/2" [23 x 29 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) David Golder, the 1931 Julien Duvivier French Jewish family relationship evils-of-wealth melodrama (about a rich Jewish businessman who has a spoiled wife and daughter; he has no compassion whatsoever, but when he loses his fortune and suffers a heart attack and faces poverty, he thinks his wife and daughter will comfort him, but all they do is complain, and he comes to terrible realizations about how he should have led his life too late) starring Harry Baur (in the title role as David Golder), Paule Andral, Jackie Monnier, Jean Bradin, and Gaston Jacquet. Note that some people have claimed this movie was anti-Semitic because of its plot, and its timing was very unfortunate, being released in France and Germany at the exact time Hitler began his rise to power. The author of the screenplay was Irene Nemirowsky, a Jewish author who died in a concentration camp a decade later. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of all the pages of this 4-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and the interior two pages together). This way, you see the entire program, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
