Note that this was Pier Paolo Pasolini's final film; he was brutally murdered just after completing it, and the circumstances of his death are still a matter of debate. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There was a 4" horizontal tear in the black background above the director credit at top center and tears and small paper loss in the left and right of the top black background area. There was a yellowed tape stain in the upper left border and one in the top of the image background, where a snipe was attached. There was a yellow tape stain in the "S" of "SALO" and a tape stain above the "L" of "SALO". There were some pinholes, tape stains, and surface paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
