He was an original member of The Three Stooges (together with this brother Moe Howard and Larry Fine) in vaudeville and in their first film, Soup to Nuts, but left the act and was replaced by his brother Curly; a decade later, after Shemp had appeared in many films solo, Curly became ill, and Shemp re-joined the Three Stooges and appeared in many of their films. Shemp passed away in 1955 at the age of 60. Important Added Info: Note that these stills all feature a specific actor or actress (sometimes portraits, but often in a scene from a movie that they were in). They come from the collection of Ken Jones, who was an author of many books about old-time actors, including many character actors. He collected on all the stars that he enjoyed, and this is a rare opportunity to get a number of stills at one time from this specific star! Condition: good to very good. One or more has been trimmed. Please see our images and bear in mind the measurement range above to get a sense of their condition (in some cases the trimming is very minimal and they measure very close to 8" x 10", and in those cases there will not be a range of measurements).
