An Original 1947 (from the first release of this movie in Italy) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Varietes, the 1935 Nicolas Farkas French/German circus trapeze romantic love triangle melodrama (about a trio of circus acrobats, two men and a beautiful woman, and the men's rivalry for her spreads over into their act, and there is the chance that the loser in love will drop the winner in mid-air; if this movie sounds a lot like the American movie "Trapeze", it is!) starring Annabella, Jean Gabin, Fernand Gravey, Nicolas Koline, and Sinoel. Note that this movie was filmed simultaneously in both German and French, with Hans Albers and Attila Horbiger replacing Jean Gabin and Fernand Gravey in the leading male roles. Bompiani Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Italian one-sheet, which is surely from the first release of this movie in Italy. We have previously auctioned an Italian one-sheet (three different times), and those have a logo on them that says "Edizione Cine 16", and we suspect they were for 16mm showings in Italy at some point in the late 1940s, and they may or may not also be from the first release. Other than those posters and a single Swedish poster, we have never auctioned any other movie paper from this movie! Note that this Italian one-sheet measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. It has faint brown staining scattered on the bottom quarter of the vertical fold and on the bottom horizontal fold, and in the title and credits area beneath that.
