eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2p931 THEY DRIVE BY NIGHT LC '40 George Raft stops Humphrey Bogart from punching old guy! Date Sold 7/19/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) They Drive By Night (released in England as "The Road to Frisco"), the 1940 Raoul Walsh trucker romantic love triangle action melodrama ("No picture in 1940 will have bigger thrills!"; "From a Novel by A.I. Bezzerides"; about truckers and their love lives; it stole part of its plot from "Bordertown"!) starring George Raft, Ann Sheridan, Ida Lupino, Humphrey Bogart, Alan Hale Sr., Gale Page, Roscoe Karns, John Litel, Charles Halton, Charles C. Wilson, George Tobias, and Henry O'Neill. Note that movies rarely have top stars in all four lead roles (other than MGM movies of the 1930s and early 1940s, because they had so many such stars that they could afford to do this), but this movie is kind of a rare exception. We say "kind of" because Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino were not yet top stars when they made this movie, but the very next movie they made was "High Sierra", which did help elevate both of them to greater stardom! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. This is a Warner Bros. linen lobby card, and it had pinholes in the corners and some very minor border wear. Some talented restorer pressed and flattened the card, and did slight restoration to the borders only WITHOUT backing the card. The card looks and feels like a regular card that is in wonderful condition, and I doubt many people could see the slight restoration. Learn More about condition grades
