An Original Vintage Radio Show Souvenir Program Book (measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/4" [14 x 21 cm]; 20 pages) (Learn More)

Ladies Be Seated, the 1944 - 1949 radio quiz show starring Johnny Olson and Penny Olson (Johnny's wife). Johnny Olson is well known as the very longtime announcer of The Price if Right, but he actually started in radio in the very late 1920s. This show, Ladies Be Seated, was his first big break, because it was his first time working for network radio, the show was like Truth or Consequences, where women would compete for prizes by doing silly stunts. Olson was billed as the "Clown-prince of Jesters", and he wore a silly top hat and told a lot of jokes while hosting the show! Note that the only paper item we have ever seen from this show is a program for the radio show from its first year (1944), and it was sponsored by Aunt Jemima, and the program is filled with ads for Aunt Jemima products (and images of her), and there is a 2-page biography of Johnny Olson (incorrectly spelled "Johnny Olsen") and a 2-page center spread showing Johnny Olson, Aunt Jemima, and "All the Gang" by an ABC radio microphone!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have pictured the front cover and an interior 2-page spread from this program. You can use these images to determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are some other pages you are not seeing.

Condition: good to very good.
