An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) The American Venus, the 1926 Frank Tuttle silent Atlantic City New Jersey romantic Miss America beauty pageant comedy ("See Fay Lanphier [Miss America] and 20 beautiful girls in a fast-moving-peppy story-") starring Esther Ralston, Ford Sterling, Lawrence Gray, Fay Lanphier (billed as "Miss America [Fay Lanphier] winner of the Atlantic City Beauty Contest"), Louise Brooks, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Note that this movie is set at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and it was made just three years after the pageant began, and the just-crowned Miss America was one of the actresses in the movie! The movie is probably best remembered for the appearance of cult actress Louise Brooks in an early minor role. She was not billed on the posters, but her image DOES appear full-length on the three-sheet! Finally, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist (only two trailers exist). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
