An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 7 3/4" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More)

Maurice Chevalier was a legendary French actor/singer from the 1910s to the 1960s. His career was tarnished during World War II when he was accused of collaborating with the Nazis, but he was forgiven after the war, and he resumed his wonderful career. Some of his movies include: Love Me Tonight, Love in the Afternoon, The Smiling Lieutenant, and Gigi AND Jeanette MacDonald was an actress/singer from the 1920s to the 1940s. She is best remembered for her co-starring roles with Nelson Eddy in opera-like musicals of the 1930s, but she was very entertaining in earlier movies, including the classic "Love Me Tonight", opposite Maurice Chevalier and directed by Ernst Lubitsch! Some of her other movies include: The Sun Comes Up, Cairo, and The Merry Widow
Important Added Info: Note that this still is a key book still, mounted to a linen backing. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the top of the still.

Condition: good to very good. The left 1" was neatly trimmed off (see above). Otherwise, the still is in nice condition! The still was attached to an album page with double stick tape on the back, and it was removed, and there is now paper residue on the back of the borders on top of the tape (but the back of the still is not sticky at all). Other than this odd defect (which really doesn't affect the front), the still is in pretty nice condition and displays well!
