An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Silver Stallion, the 1941 Edward Finney adventure cowboy western starring David Sharpe, Chief Thundercloud (billed as "Chief 'Tonto' Thundercloud"), Leroy Mason, Thornton Edwards, Walter Long, Janet Waldo, Fred Hoose, Thunder ("The Wonder Horse"; in the title role as the Silver Stallion), and Boots the Wonder Dog (billed as "'Captain Boots' Famous Police Dog"). Note that this is a very strange movie! The IMDb says that it was made by "Boots and Saddles Pictures" in 1941, but released by Monogram in 1941 and re-released by them in 1946. But Boots and Saddles Pictures seems to have only existed until 1938, and we can't find anywhere else that says they were connected to this movie (and they are not on the posters). We have seen very similar Monogram one-sheets that are undated, but by the litho number, we can tell that one is from 1941 and one is from the 1946 re-release. But the lobby cards are really odd, because we have seen Monogram lobby cards, one of which was full-color, and appears to be from 1941, and most of the others are from the 1946 re-release (and they have a 1946 NSS number on them). But then we have also seen lobby cards that are very similar to the 1946 re-release ones, EXCEPT that they don't have the Monogram logo or NSS information, and their images are "flipped" from the 1946 re-releases! So we will call them "R50s", thinking they are from an undated 1950s re-release (not through Monogram), until we learn otherwise. If anyone can straighten any of this out, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
