Artist: Frank McCarthy Important Added Info: Note that the last example of this poster we auctioned was fully folded, and it sold for $3,655. The example before that was linenbacked, and was also fully folded, and was in "good to very good" condition prior to backing, and that sold for $3,433. THIS example is unfolded, unrestored, and in nice condition! Note also that this "country of origin" British quad measures 31" x 41" [79 x 104 cm] and it says "Printed in England by Lonsdale & Bartholomew, Nottingham" in the lower right. In the past we have contacted English poster experts, and they tell us that British quad posters for this title were made in both a 30" x 40" and a 31" x 41" size and were printed on more than one kind of paper. We are certain the poster offered here is authentic. Finally, note that we refer to this as the "bathing" style. There is also the "gyrocopter" style and "sideways" style (because Bond is sideways in the image!), and we are currently auctioning each of those in separate auctions. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has creases and tiny tears along portions of the blank borders (mostly in the corners) and there amateur restoration edge wear few faint smudges around the edges. It has an approximately 2" tear at lower right that someone backed with a thin piece of tape (it affects only blank paper). There is a thin diagonal scuff under the art image. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays pretty well as is, and if one chose to have some restoration performed it would look great! Learn More about condition grades
