An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 17" [28 x 43 cm]; 14 pages) (Learn More) Christmas Eve, the 1947 Edwin L. Marin winter holiday family relationship inheritance romantic comedy ("Adapted from original stories by Laurence Stallings and Richar H. Landau"; about a wealthy woman who adopts three orphan boys; many years later, they leave her care to make their own way in the world, and they become very different people, but when her greedy nephew threatens to steal her fortune, the three adopted sons return to help her) starring George Raft, George Brent, Randolph Scott, Joan Blondell, Virginia Field, Dolores Moran, Ann Harding, Reginald Denny, Douglass Dumbrille, Clarence Knob, Dennis Hoey, John Litel, Walter Sands, Joe Sawyer, and Konstantin Shayne. Note that United Artists probably was afraid that this "family" movie might not find an audience, and they deceptively advertised it with a main image of George Raft pointing a gun, no doubt hoping people might go to it thinking it was a George Raft film noir! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of the pressbook, plus an image of a two-page spread from inside of the pressbook (we do NOT picture any supplements or heralds, if there are any included with this pressbook), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The cover of the pressbook is completely separated along the spine and there are a few small tears and minor creases around the edges of the pages of the pressbook. Learn More about condition grades
