A Vintage Hardcover Book (measures 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" [9 x 11 cm]; 272 pages) (Learn More) Road to Perdition, the 2002 Sam Mendes mob gangster mafia crime film noir ("Pray for Michael Sullivan."; "Every father is a hero to his son."; "From the director of 'American Beauty'"; "Based upon the graphic novel written by Max Allen Collins and illustrated by Richard Piers Rayner"; about a hitman's son who witnesses what his father does for a living) starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Jude Law, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Stanley Tucci, and Daniel Craig NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the ad campaign for this movie was all designed to look like 1940s advertising with considerable aging (because the movie itself is a tribute to 1940s film noir movies). The posters have "faux" defects, to make them look old. Someone connected to the movie had the great idea of making a Big Little Book, something out of the 1940s as well! We have never auctioned this before Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Condition: very good. The book has printed distress marks around the edges. What is really weird is that the last half of it has slight water staining, but the pages are not at all stuck together, although they are rippled. Since this water staining is not in any way on the covers (or the inside covers), it seems like this was done intentionally to give it a "vintage" look! But we can't say for certain, because we have never seen this book before. Of course, if it is real water staining, it is only in "fair to good" condition.
