An Original Vintage Linenbacked English World War II Poster (measures 20" x 30 1/4" [51 x 77 cm]) (Learn More) Hit Back with your War Savings, the 1941 English World War I (WWI) Home Front poster produced by the National Savings Movement, and featuring Farr art of a man holding a sledgehammer. The National Savings Movement was a British mass savings plan that operated between 1916 and 1978 and was used to finance the deficit of government spending over tax revenues. The movement was instrumental during World War II in raising funds to support the war effort. Artist: Farr Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was folded once in each direction. It had a slightly diagonal crease or tear 1" above the left half of the horizontal fold and a 10" tear near the bottom center of the poster, 1" to the right of the vertical fold.
