An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded English Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Humanity; or, Only a Jew (also released simply as "Humanity"), the 1913 Bert Haldane & John Lawson English silent gambling murder crime romantic love triangle melodrama short (a wild story of a Jewish man who saves a man from suicide, only to find that the man not only shoots a friend of his, but also seduces the wife of the man who saved him!) starring John Lawson, Lucille Sidney, Charles Stafford, Rollow Balmain, and Frank Seddon. Note that the IMDb gives the title of this movie as "Humanity; or, Only a Jew", but the only poster we have ever seen on it has simply "Humanity" on the poster (someone hand wrote "AKA ONLY A JEW" on the back of the poster in pencil). The movie was not only directed by John Lawson, but he also starred in it and wrote the script! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that many people are not aware that prior to World War II, most standard English movie posters measured 30" x 40", just like the post-World War II quad posters, but they often had a "vertical" orientation, meaning they mostly resembled a U.S. one-sheet (and they were usually printed on the same paper and folded the same way). This is a very rare "country of origin" poster for this English movie, which measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]. Condition: good. The poster has tears and areas of paper loss on parts of the folds and in parts of the borders. It is fragile. The poster is in urgent need of expert professional restoration. But the poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will likely require little paint restoration within the image.
