Roxy Theatre/Orpheum Theatre, the 1942 local theater window card listing the movies that were playing at the Roxy and Orpheum theaters in Ottawa, Illinois for October 24th and 25th. At the Roxy Theatre: Crossroads, the 1942 Jack Conway romantic amnesia blackmail crime mystery thriller ("Where women wait to seal your fate!"; "Original story by John Kafka and Howard Emmett Rogers") starring William Powell ("in his first dramatic role in years!"), Hedy Lamarr, Claire Trevor, Basil Rathbone, and Margaret Wycherly AND at the Orpheum Theatre: We Were Dancing, the 1942 Robert Z. Leonard romantic comedy ("Playmates of millionaires but they didn't have a dime to dance on!"; "Based in part on 'Tonight at 8:30' by Noel Coward"; about a pair of "professional guests" who spend their time separately being house guests to rich people, even though they are poor themselves, and of course, they meet and fall in love, but they must keep their marriage secret, because no one wants a married couple for a house guest!) starring Norma Shearer, Melvin Douglas, Gail Patrick, Lee Bowman, Marjorie Main, Reginald Owen, Alan Mowbray, and Florence Bates AND Stardust on the Sage, the 1942 William Morgan singing cowboy western musical starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, William Henry, Edith Fellows, Louise Currie, and George Ernest
