An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Susan Peters (born Suzanne Carnahan) was one of the most tragic, yet oddly forgotten, stories of Hollywood female stars who rise and fall in a short time. She was one of MGM's most promising young female stars in 1943, and she married actor Richard Quine, but in 1945, she was wounded in a hunting accident, and she became paralyzed from the waist down. She appeared in the 1948 movie The Sign of the Ram as a wheelchair-bound matriarch, but without much success (1948 audiences were not very understanding about disabilities), and tragically, she divorced and starved herself to death, dying in 1952 at the age of 31. Some of her other movies include: Random Harvest (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Andy Hardy's Double Life, and The Big Shot. She passed away in 1952 from pneumonia, chronic kidney problems and starvation at the young age of 31. Important Added Info: Note that the snipe on this still indicates it is from 1940 when she was first signed (straight out of Hollywood High School!), but it is also stamped 1945, no doubt because it was used again after her tragic accident when she became paralyzed. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
