An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" [10 x 13 cm] when folded; 4 pages) (Learn More)

The Story Without a Name, the 1924 Irvin Willat silent spy espionage inventor death ray romantic crime thriller ("The first great RADIO romance!"; a somewhat wacky story of a young radio expert who invents a death ray for the U.S. government, and enemy spies who are pirates capture him and his girlfriend, but his girlfriend destroys the machine first, but the spies threaten to kill her if he doesn't build a new machine, and instead, he builds a telegraph machine and is able to call for help!) starring Agnes Ayres, Antonio Moreno, Tyrone Power Sr., Louis Wolheim, Dagmar Godowsky, and Jack Lionel Bohn. Note that this movie has an unusual name, for an unusual reason! The producers of the movie held a contest through Photoplay Magazine. They said they would release this movie with no name at all, and then viewers could watch it and write in their choice for the best name for it, and that the winner would receive $5,000, a staggering amount in 1924 dollars (we have no way of knowing if the prize was ever awarded, but we strongly doubt it!). Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note this herald was folded in half at one time as was originally intended.
