An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Man's Best Friend, the 1935 Edward A. Kull & Thomas Storey canine German Shepherd dog melodrama ("Story and Continuity by Tom Sawyer Storey", who was also the director, but he billed himself two different ways; about a young boy whose dog is accused of committing crimes, but it turns out that it was really a bear that was the culprit, and there is a great fierce confrontation between the dog and bear!) starring Lightning ("The Marvel Dog"), Douglas Haig, Frank Brownlee, and Samson the Bear. Note that Lightning made an uncredited appearance in the 1934 movie, "The Case of the Howling Dog", and that got him discovered and he starred in a half dozen movies over the next three year, after which he retired from the screen! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There is separation in some of the crossfolds and ends of some foldlines. There is red pen writing on the back that slightly bleeds through to the front at lower left (to the right of the dog's mouth). The lower vertical foldline is completely separated and there is a very fragile tear under the lower crossfold (it is being held in place by a tiny magnet in our image). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
