An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures approximately 24" x 33") (Learn More) The Stranger, the classic 1946 Orson Welles post-World War II (WWII) Nazi romantic crime film noir ("The most deceitful man a woman ever loved!"; "Story by Victor Trivas and Decla Dunning"; about a government agent who is sent to a small town to find a man he suspects is a former Nazi, who is living a new life and is romantically involved with a beautiful woman) starring Edward G. Robinson, Loretta Young, Orson Welles, Philip Merivale, Richard Long, and Billy House NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Benny Stilling Important Added Info: Note that the poster has an artist's signature on it, but we cannot make it out in the slightest. If anyone knows the name of this artist, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases and scuffs around the edges of the poster with a few scattered in the image. There were a few tiny tears in the borders. There was a censor stamp in the top left background area and a distributor snipe glued to the bottom right corner. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but the restorer left alone the censor stamp and the distributor snipe, likely thinking that they are a part of the history of the poster, and add to it.
