He participated in minstrel shows during the early part of the 1900s, during which time he earned his nickname of "Lasses" (short for molasses). After spending time on radio, he entered the film industry in the late 1930s, and appeared in over 70 films (often portraying characters named Lasses White). Some of his movies include: Song of the Range, Six-Gun Serenade, and Rainbow over the Rockies. He passed away in 1949 at the age of 61. Important Added Info: Note that these stills all feature a specific actor or actress (sometimes portraits, but often in a scene from a movie that they were in). They come from the collection of Ken Jones, who was an author of many books about old-time actors, including many character actors. He collected on all the stars that he enjoyed, and this is a rare opportunity to get a number of stills at one time from this specific star! Condition: good to very good. One has some light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in various areas due to exposure to moisture (see our image) but the others are in nicer condition. Learn More about condition grades
