An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Robot Monster, the 1953 Phil Tucker 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller (perhaps the worst movie ever made; "Moon monsters launch attack against Earth!"; "Moon monsters launch Earth attack!"; "Adventures into the Future"; "How can science meet the menace of astral assassins? New science-fiction thrills!"; "Monsters attack Earth!"; "Adventures into the future in NEW Tru-3 dimension!") starring George Nader, Claudia Barrett, Selena Royle, John Mylong, Gregory Moffett, Pamela Paulson, George Barrows, and John Brown (in the title role as the voice of the robot). Note that "Plan Nine From Outer Space" has often been mentioned as the worst movie ever made, but many people feel this movie is a strong contender for that title! The making of the movie is as interesting as the movie itself (it was shot in four days, it "steals" special effects from other movies, etc).

Important Added Info: Note that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D lobby cards and 2D lobby cards (the 2-D cards were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This title card is from the "3-D" release.

Condition: good to very good. Just about every piece of movie paper I have had from this classically bad movie has had either paper snipes over the "3D" information, or glue stains on that area where paper snipes once were. This card is no exception! There are glue stains over the large "3D" logo and over the "3DIMENSION" tagline below the title. There are many staple holes in each corner and there is a pair of staple holes in the "R" of "ADVENTURES" in the top tagline. There are some creases and smudges and extremely tiny nicks around the edges of the card and a few in the yellow background area. There were four tiny tears in the lower part of the right blank border, and someone put small pieces of clear tape over them and also put small pieces of clear tape in each corner to cover the back of the pinholes. There are three pieces of clear tape on the back of the bottom border covering small pinholes. The card is in much better condition than the above makes it sound! Most of the defects are in the borders or in the yellow background, and the glue stains in the "3D" areas are not that distracting. I would think many collectors could display this card just as it is, or certainly, any talented restorer could greatly improve its appearance only requiring a small amount of paint restoration within the image.
