An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm]) (Learn More)

ABCs of Love, the 1953 Lillian Hunt burlesque sexploitation melodrama ("Komedy with a Kick!"; "SEE- Burlesk's sexiest blonde"; "Sensational Burlesque"; "featuring Gilda The Golden Girl"; "All new"; "Adults only") starring Shirley Jean Rickert (as Gilda; she started acting in Our Gang movies at 4 years old as "Shirley Jean", and then appeared in the Mickey McGuire movies with Mickey Rooney, and her child career ended when she was 10 years old, and then she resurfaced a decade later as an uncredited dancer in movies, and when that didn't pan out, she became a burlesque dancer, and doing so in this one movie!), Mae Blondell, Helen Lewis, Jill Adams, and Bebe Hughs. Finally, we found newspaper ads for this movie ranging all the way from 1953 to 1960, so it certainly was playing around the United States during that entire time, and it is impossible to know whether advertising is from one of those specific years unless it is dated in some way, and none of the items we have auctioned so far have been. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that if it seems to you that this one-sheet doesn't look like it is from 1953, know that we have seen this exact same image (the naked girl) on a special poster from a 1939 sexploitation movie, under one of its titles of "Main Street Girl". Now that means that this image could have been stolen from a 1939 poster for the other movie, or it could be that the other poster is a 1950s re-release of a 1939 movie, and that it stole the image from THIS poster, or maybe both posters stole the image from yet a third poster! If anyone knows more about any of this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Finally, note that we have never auctioned this poster before (or anything from the movie other than some window cards). Also note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm]. Also note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars.

Condition: good. The poster is entirely separated on the bottom horizontal fold and there are tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of most folds. The poster was lightly folded in half an extra time. There are some tears and tiny paper loss in the borders. The poster has these very clear defects, but it certainly can be linenbacked and afterwards, it will display well!
