(Learn More) Hitler's Madman (also released as "Hitler's Hangman"), the 1943 Douglas Sirk World War II (WWII) anti-Nazi Czech Resistance propaganda melodrama ("Sensational!"; written, in part, by Edgar Ulmer; about how the Nazis marched into a specific city in Czechoslovakia, and installed a brutal psychopath as the Reich Protector, and how many Czech citizens want to remain neutral, but the Nazis close the schools and round up the pretty women to become prostitutes, and when a Resistance fighter assassinates the Reich Protector, the Nazis burn the entire city including all its inhabitants; it was intended to inflame U.S. audiences and to tell them that they needed to fight to the very end!) starring Patricia Morison, John Carradine (as Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich), Alan Curtis, Ralph Morgan, Ludwig Stossel, Howard Freeman, Ava Gardner (in an early uncredited role), and Tully Marshall. Note that this exact same story was also told in 1943 by Fritz Lang, in his "Hangmen Must Die", with Hans Heinrich von Twardowsk as Reinhard Heydrich. Also, this was produced by Producers Releasing Corporation (a "poverty row" studio) but distributed by MGM NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook was created during the time when MGM (likely in a cost-cutting measure) stopped printing elaborate full-color covers for their pressbooks, and instead solely created several newsprint sections for each movie. It is difficult to know on such movies how many sections were originally created, but there were usually three of them, and if all three are present, then the pressbook is likely complete. Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good, NO CUTS. There is paper loss in the bottom left corner of the cover of the main section, and, like all MGM pressbooks of this time, it has darkened somewhat, and is somewhat fragile.
