An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Deluxe 10" x 13" [25 x 33 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Susan Peters (born Suzanne Carnahan) was one of the most tragic, yet oddly forgotten, stories of Hollywood female stars who rise and fall in a short time. She was one of MGM's most promising young female stars in 1943, and she married actor Richard Quine, but in 1945, she was wounded in a hunting accident, and she became paralyzed from the waist down. She appeared in the 1948 movie The Sign of the Ram as a wheelchair-bound matriarch, but without much success (1948 audiences were not very understanding about disabilities), and tragically, she divorced and starved herself to death, dying in 1952 at the age of 31. Some of her other movies include: Random Harvest (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Andy Hardy's Double Life, and The Big Shot. She passed away in 1952 from pneumonia, chronic kidney problems and starvation at the young age of 31. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Susan Peters! Our consignor purchased this signed item from the estate of a major autograph collector, and while he does not have a certificate of authenticity, both he and we are certain the autographs is authentic. Note that this portrait was taken BEFORE Miss Peters' tragic accident, when her future seemed incredibly bright (and the writing on the back reflects that). Also note that this still measures 10" x 13" [25 x 33 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Finally, note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
