An Original 1940s (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese "B3" or "Nakazuri" Movie Poster (14x20; measures 14 3/4" x 21" [37 x 53 cm]) (Learn More) Johnny Come Lately, the 1943 William K. Howard newspaper reporter journalism melodrama ("That 'Academy Award' man is coming to town! You'll go for Jimmy as he goes all out for three gals in a jam... And William Cagney's production really makes the story tick! C'mon people! This is for you!"; "From the novel 'McLeod's Folly' by Louis Bromfield"; about a tramp who visits a small town and gets involved with the local newspaper owned by an elderly lady, and he saves them from being shut down) starring James Cagney (billed as "The Winner and still champion"), Grace George, Marjorie Main, Marjorie Lord, Hattie McDaniel, Edward McNamara, Margaret Hamilton, and Clarence Muse NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, immediately after World War II, the U.S. occupied Japan, and many American movies were shown in the late 1940s (until some point in 1950). All of the Japanese posters we have seen from that period have a "Motion Picture Export Association" circular printed logo on the poster, and this only seems to be on these late 1940s posters. Since there were many U.S. servicemen in Japan at this time, these posters have the title written in both Japanese and in English, and they are from the first Japanese release, and such posters from right after World War II are incredibly rare! Also note that this poster measures 14 3/4" x 21" [37 x 53 cm]. Finally, note that this poster was folded across the middle at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There are minor creases scattered throughout the poster (mostly along the foldline and around the edges) and the poster has darkened slightly around the edges. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition, especially considering its age and origin, and it displays well! Learn More about condition grades
