Date Sold 2/24/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Esmeralda the Cat was a black feline actress from the 1930s. She was signed to appear in one movie: Spitfire, starring Katharine Hepburn. However, she never made it into the final film, because after being "groomed to a sleekness well fed look for perhaps the first time in her life", she left the set and production was halted for an entire day while everyone looked for her, which cost the producers $5,000 (in 1934 dollars!). Once Esmeralda was confirmed completely lost, a new cat was found and took over her part. "Feline experts said Esmeralda is probably en route back to her old alley, resentful of pampering and the soft life of a movie queen"! Important Added Info: Note that the movie is called "Trigger" on the back of this still, which was the working title for this movie! Condition: very good to fine. There are a few minor creases in the blank borders. Otherwise, the still is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
