There are modern day recreations of these, but this is absolutely an original! It was found in an Odd Fellows meeting hall (the ancient fraternity like the Shriners), which had been in existence for over 100 years, and had barely been touched in the last 40 years. We can't say for 100% certain that it is from the 1930s, but we would be amazed if it was from after the 1940s. We have included four pictures of the front, back, top, and bottom of the item. Important Added Info: We are currently also auctioning a Halloween paper mache pumpkin, in a separate auction! Condition: good to very good. There is scuffing and small paint loss on the cat's nose. The original wire is missing, but it of course could be easily replaced. Otherwise, there is some minor wear, but it is pretty remarkable that this has survived at all, given that it is pretty fragile, being paper mache! Learn More about condition grades
