Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had many small tears and tiny areas of paper loss scattered down the vertical foldline, extra creases and tears along the bottom horizontal fold, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. There were some long tears in the middle of the left of the poster. There were many pinholes, tears, and smudges around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster.
