4 Original Vintage Theatrical English Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Amorous Prawn (released in the U.S. as "The Playgirl and the War Minister" and "Girls Take Over"), the 1962 Anthony Kimmins English political sex scandal comedy ("He had only three lovers... Wine, Women and the War Department"; "When the top brass made a pass... There were red faces in high places!!!"; "Sabotage- when H.Q. becomes a Honeymoon Hotel!!") starring Ian Carmichael, Joan Greenwood, Cecil Parker, Dennis Price, Robert Beatty, and Liz Fraser
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that these lobby cards were used in Canada. In the mid 1940s, extending into the 1950s, Canadian censors were fanatical over not showing images of guns, but also girls with "too sexy" revealing clothes, and violent images. So they actually hired people to apply giant blobs of paint over offensive areas! The paint bonds in with the card, and it CAN'T be removed, only painted over. So either you see this as a giant defect, which defaces the poster, or you may think of it as a "cool addition", showing how crazy Canadian censorship was at this time. But please do not bid on these cards unless you can accept this very significant defect! Also note that these are "country of origin" lobby cards for this partially English movie!

Condition: good to very good. There is a series of small holes that form numbers (typical of Canadian censor stamps of this period) near the right edge of each card. The card pictured at upper left has Canadian censor paint over the image of the woman at center (see above).
