An Unfolded German Special Poster (measures 11 3/4" x 16 1/2" [30 x 42 cm]) (Learn More) Travestie Anders (literally translates to "Travesty Different"), the 1991 German poster promoting a benefit for the Gay Liberation Front to take place from September 12th to the 13th in Cologne, Germany. Note that the association of the color pink with being gay is a fairly modern cultural phenomenon. There is an idea that pink is feminine and gay men are feminine therefore pink equates to gay. However, the gay rights movement has appropriated what was meant as an insult and made pink a gay color. The idea that pink is for girls and blue is for boys is somewhere in the region of 100 years old. In fact, pink was thought of as a vibrant "male" color in the past, being a watered-down red; whereas blue was thought of as pretty and effeminate. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
