An Original Vintage Studio Promo Portfolio (contains 27 photo cards that measure 4" x 8 1/4" [10 x 21 cm]; folder measures 4 1/2" x 9") (Learn More) Paramount and Artcraft Personalities, the late 1910s portrait collection featuring photos of 30 producers, directors, and actors who worked at Paramount and Artcraft Pictures at the time this was made. The 30 portraits, each of which is on a 4" x 8 1/4" sheet that is printed on a thin paper, are of the following: Adolph Zukor, Jesse L. Lasky, Cecil B. DeMille, D.W. Griffith (as David Wark Griffith), Thomas H. Ince, Mack Sennett, J. Stuart Blackton, George M. Cohan, Burton Holmes, Douglas Fairbanks, Julian Eltinge (most famous of all the impersonators of women), William S. Hart, Fatty Arbuckle (as Roscoe Arbuckle), Victor Moore, Wallace Reid, Sessue Hayakawa, Charles Ray, Jack Pickford, Elsie Ferguson, Louise Huff, Lina Cavelieri, Vivian Martin, Geraldine Farrar, Marguerite Clark, Enid Bennett, Billie Burke, Mary Pickford, Dorothy Dalton, Pauline Frederick, and Ann Pennington. Note that Paramount Pictures was the number one studio at this time, especially after they absorbed Artcraft Pictures. They had the greatest roster of Hollywood stars ever assembled, and they were justifiably proud of them, and they created this cool portfolio to brag about it, and they sent it in the self contained mailer (likely to theater owners)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set of portraits originally contained 30 portraits. However, the set we are auctioning is missing three of those. The three that are missing are Douglas Fairbanks, Fatty Arbuckle, and one other lesser person. We have pictured all the other 27 that are present, plus the inside and outside of the elaborate folder that held them. Condition: good to very good. 3 OF THE 30 PORTRAITS ARE MISSING, and only 27 are present (see above). The ones that are present and the folder are in pretty nice condition.
