Date Sold 3/31/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Tex Beneke was a Big Band singer and saxophone player from the 1930s to the 1990s. He led the Glenn Miller Orchestra after Miller's death, and has contributed to several soundtracks, including: Sun Valley Serenade, Orchestra Wives, and TV's "This is Your Life". He passed away in 2000 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Tex Beneke! Our consignor started collecting autographed photos in the 1960s and continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and stopped early in the 1990s. He attended collector shows, where he obtained some autographs in person, and his other signed photos were purchased from reputable dealers in New York and Los Angeles. He does not have certificates of authenticity, but he (and we) believe it is likely that the signatures on his items are authentic. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
