Date Sold 4/1/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) Clarence E. Mulford's Hoppy Serves a Writ, the 1943 George Archainbaud cowboy western ("WHAM! This is action!"; "Hoppy's fist talks even louder than his gun.. as Hoppy serves a writ - the tough way!"; "Based on Characters Created by Clarence E. Mulford") starring William Boyd ("as Hopalong Cassidy"), George Reeves, Andy Clyde, Jay Kirby, Victor Jory, Jan Christy, Bill George, and Robert Mitchum (in his first credited role and his third movie, as "Henchman"!; he received credit in the closing credits of the movie, but he was NOT billed on any of the posters!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the top card in our image has a great scene that clearly shows bad guy Robert Mitchum laying on the ground (I think it was a very wise move that he got rid of that mustache!). It is quite likely that Mitchum does not appear on any advertising of any kind in his earlier two movies (since he was uncredited in both), and he certainly does not appear on any of the posters from this movie, so this may well be the only advertising from this movie that shows Mitchum, and also the very first movie paper that shows Mitchum! Also note that the other card has an excellent image of George Reeves, later to become Superman! Condition: very good to fine. The bottom card in our image has a tiny piece of clear tape on the back of the top right corner. Learn More about condition grades
