An Original Vintage German Cigarette Card Album (measures 10 1/4" x 11 3/4" [26 x 30 cm]; contains a total of 75 cards from both movies on 16 pages) (Learn More) the 1920s German cigarette card album published by the Cigarettenfabrik Constantin in Hanover, Germany and featuring 75 cards from the films Fridericus Rex - 1. Teil: Sturm und Drang (literally translates to "Fridericus Rex - Part 1: Storm and Stress"), the 1922 Arzen von Cserepy German silent military war melodrama starring Otto Gebuhr (as Kronprinz Friedrich II), Albert Steinruck (as Friedrich Wilhelm I), Gertrud de Lalsky, Erna Morena, and Eduard von Winterstein AND Wege zu Kraft und Schonheit - Ein Film uber moderne Korperkultur (released in other English-speaking countries as "Ways to Strength and Beauty"), the 1925 Wilhem Prager German silent naturist documentary featuring Leni Riefenstahl (in her very first film appearance!), Jenny Hasselqvist, Josef Holub, and archive footage of Jack Dempsey and Johnny Weissmuller. Note that this is a REALLY wild movie, even beyond it being Riefenstahl's first appearance (and she's naked!). The movie predates the American "naturalist" craze of the early 1930s by around six years, and it pretends to be a sort of "nudist" documentary, extolling the virtues of life without clothes, and it shows lots of teenagers and young adults dancing and playing sports in the nude, and of course, most people's interest in seeing the movie was watching all the naked people! Riefenstahl is not credited, but she plays one of the nude dancers in the movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this wonderful album (which has a cord binding at the spine) has printed pages with captions for each of the 75 cards (50 from Fridericus Rex and 25 from Ways to Strength and Beauty, with many nude images of young Leni Riefenstahl). Above each of the captions is inserted all of the 75 cards (see our images). The album was published by Cigarettenfabrik Constantin in Hanover, Germany, no doubt in the mid to late 1920s. Condition: very good to fine. A few of the cards have shifted slightly or have very minor wear. The cover of the album has some stains in the top right corner. Otherwise, the entire album and cards are in really nice condition (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
