An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 4" x 5" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) Saturday Night Fever, the classic 1977 John Badham New York City romantic musical disco dancing melodrama ("Where do you go when the record is over..."; "Saturday Night Fever ...Catch it."; "Original music written and performed by the Bee Gees") starring John Travolta (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Tony Manero), Karen Lynn Gorney (as Stephanie; billed as "Karen Gorney"), Barry Miller (as Bobby C.), Joseph Cali (as Joey), Paul Pape (as Double J.), Donna Pescow (as Annette), Martin Shakar (as Frank Jr.), Nina Hansen (as the grandmother), and Val Bisoglio (as Frank Sr.) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Gentile Important Added Info: Note that this image shows poster art that was never used, and it has a sticker on it that says "SNF GENTILE ART". We know that this artist did movie posters at this time, including "Islands in the Stream" the same year, so we imagine this is almost certainly a rejected poster image that he submitted for this movie (although it could have been used in something other than the U.S. poster campaign). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this (or these, in the case of multiple transparencies) was created by and sent by the studio that produced this (in the year noted on this auction) to newspapers, magazines, TV stations, or reviewers, so that they could use them to create the highest quality ads. They can be used to make very high quality reproductions, but bear in mind that we are solely auctioning the physical transparencies and NOT the right to reproduce them, so unless they are public domain, the new owner must acquire the rights elsewhere before reproducing them. There are some transparencies in this set of auctions that were NOT created by studios, but those are very clearly marked. Also, note that we not only took a photograph (or photographs) of how these items appear, but we also scanned them as well, so that you can see the actual images (and how high quality they are). Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
