An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #4 ("The Convict Strikes") Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

The Fire Detective, the 1929 Spencer Gordon Bennet & Thomas Storey silent fireman firefighter rescue adventure serial ("Thrilling and Amazing Adventures"; "Blazing Pathe serial"; "From a story by Frank Leon Smith") starring Gladys McConnell, Hugh Allan, and Leo D. Maloney. We could find no complete plot synopsis of this serial (which had ten two-reel chapters), but we found an incomplete review that said that the hero of the serial was a man whose father made firefighting equipment, and he became a fireman to see how his father's equipment worked, and that the female lead was a newspaper woman also investigating the equipment. Sadly, this is a lost movie, meaning no prints are believed to have survived. According to the Exhibitors Daily Review, The Fire Detective was set to be the first serial with sound sequences (not a talkie, but synchronized sound effects). However, based on reviews of the time, those intended sound effects never happened, so it was a completely silent serial.

Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card!
