Date Sold 4/10/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Three Miles Up, the 1927 Bruce M. Mitchell silent military airplane aviation pilot action thriller ("A Universal Thrill Feature") starring Al Wilson ("Dare-Devil Aviator"), William Malan, Ethlyne Clair, William Clifford, and Frank Rice. Note that Al Wilson was a stunt pilot who became a producer and actor in a number of movies between 1923 and 1932 (including performing some stunts in Hell's Angels in 1930), when he sadly died performing airplane stunts at an air show. He was only 36. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the cardboard holder has staining or smudges around the staples, but the glass slide itself is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
