An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/4" [17 x 23 cm]) (Learn More)

Mechanix Illustrated ("The How-To-Do Magazine"), a 1928 - 2001 magazine like Popular Mechanics, which was aimed at "do-it-yourselfers" (long before the days of Home Depot and Lowe's), when the only way to get help on home projects was through magazines like these! Each issue was filled with illustrated stories about all sorts of projects that an average person could do at home (and also some related to cars). There were also loads of ads from companies that sold to people who did their own home projects.
Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Ben Chapman (our consignor obtained it at a convention where he met Mr. Chapman in person in 2006)! Also note that not only does this issue have a wonderful article on how The Creature from the Black Lagoon was made for the movie, but it also has a great article about Chevrolet introducing the Corvette and how they could tell it was going to be a giant hit! Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue.

Condition: very good. There is some slight wear on the covers and an address label on the bottom of the front cover, but the magazine is generally in pretty good condition!
