An Original Vintage Spanish Campaign Book (measures 9 3/4" x 12 1/2" [25 x 32 cm]; 24 pages) (Learn More) United Artists 1933, the 1933 Spanish campaign book featuring the release of upcoming United Artists movies in Spain in the coming year. Note that while it is possible that this Spanish campaign book the same the U.S. campaign book from the same year, we don't know for certain, because we have never auctioned a 1933 U.S. campaign book. It is also possible that this book has some different movies, because they might not have arrived in Spain until the following year. The campaign book includes mostly two-color images of ads for the major upcoming United Artists films including White Zombie with Bela Lugosi and Rain with Joan Crawford, and many other upcoming United Artists movies. The back cover has an ad for 18 Mickey Mouse cartoons and 13 Silly Symphonies cartoons. We have included images of the cover of the book and several of the two-page spreads. Note that Spanish campaign books (from Spain) are even more rare than U.S. campaign books of the same period! This is likely because of the paper drives during World War II. Virtually no Spanish campaign books survive from any year from before World War II! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: fair. The original staples from the spine are long gone. At some point, several of the pages separated at the spine, and someone taped some of them back together at the spine, and others are loose. There are no missing pages. There is light staining scattered on the covers, and some of the interior pages have some light staining. One of the two-page spreads with Gloria Swanson has staining on both pages and in Swanson's upper lip, and a two-page ad for Hallelujah I'm a Bum has some paper loss in the text area.
