Date Sold 10/20/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) Morituri (also released as "The Saboteur Code Name - 'Morituri'"), the 1965 Bernhard Wicki World War II (WWII) military spy espionage adventure ("Morituri must mean something unusual..."; "A daring master spy... a case-hardened Nazi captain... a girl who despised them both, but offered herself so they could live."; "World War II, Espionage, Adventure, and Human Lives Have Never Before Been Combined so Explosively!"; "In its mighty themes... In the clash of its giants among men, it is one of the most powerful adventures of World War II!"; "...now all the raw fury of World War II compressed into this one ship... these two foes... this unique motion picture!"; "'Morituri' means something unusual..."; "Screenplay by Daniel Taradash") starring Marlon Brando, Yul Brynner, Janet Margolin, Trevor Howard (billed as "Guest Star Trevor Howard as Colonel Statter"), and Wally Cox. Note that when this movie was release it was titled "Morituri," however, the movie bombed because many people misunderstood the title, thinking that it was some sort of horror-type movie instead of the spy drama that it was. The movie was re-released featuring the new title "The Saboteur: Code Name,'Morituri'," but it was too late and the movie bombed again anyway! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the cards have a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light blue and yellow lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these cards, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s lobby cards, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of these lobby cards. Condition: very good. Note that these lobby cards have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they have never had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
