An Original 1962 (from the first release of this movie in Belgium) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14 1/4" x 20 3/4" [36 x 53 cm]) (Learn More) Die Nackte Und Der Satan (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "The Head") the 1959 Victor Trivas German horror thriller ("At the head of all masterpieces of horror that you've ever seen... You must place The Head [careful - don't drop it]"; "Meet the scientist with the completely detached point of view... and then permit us to introduce you to Irene...who wears her own face and the body of a murdered strip-teaser!"; "And then start screaming your head off!"; "It just won't lay down and stay dead!"; "Start screaming your head off right now!"; "A monstrous new concept in motion picture excitement. The screen's most diabolical journey into fear and suspense!"; "Nothing in this lifetime... or the next... has prepared you for your encounter with The Head"; "The body is gone but the head lives on!"; "This is Irene who wears her own face and the body of a dead strip-teaser!") starring Michel Simon, Horst Frank, Paul Dahlke, Karin Kernke, Christian Maybach, and Helmut Schmid. Note that this German horror movie had a cool title (literally translates to "The Naked and Satan") and cool poster images, but for some unknown reason, when it was released in the U.S. three years later, it was given a crappy title, "The Head", and given really crappy posters! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14 1/4" x 20 3/4" [36 x 53 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had a few small tears and creases on the folds. It had pinholes in the corners, with paper loss in the bottom left blank corner and small tears in the bottom border, with a water stain in the bottom of the right border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
